 ☄ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: Rika is a rather short 4'9" girl with bright violet eyes and blueish-purple hair with rather childish features. Due to her training as a miko along with the game club activities, while she may have a slim build, there is some muscle to her. ♚ FASHION: In general, she tends to lean towards simple, but cute things. ♚ DEMEANOUR: Rika in general acts more like an ojou-sama as a teen, but will drop the act at times depending on circumstances. She goes from 'very childish' to 'dark as all hell' tbh. ♚ SOUND: Rika is voiced by Yukari Tamura in the Japanese versions of the anime and visual novel, which is what I will be pulling from for her voice. Rika herself puts out three personalities - her 'childish' personality, her 'mature' personality, and her 'teen' persona. With her childish personality, Rika will often use onomatopoeia such as 'mii' and 'nipa', inserting them into her sentences as appropriate. In Japanese, she uses the pronoun boku when referring to herself while using this personality and speaks in a generally high pitched, almost stereotypical 'cute, small, anime girl' voice. When she switches to her more 'mature' personality, however, her voice will deepen, and she'll drop all the verbal tics. In Japanese, she switches from boku to watashi here and will even reference the Frederica Bernkastel poems. Her speech becomes more refined, but she will get more visibly annoyed and frustrated while speaking using her 'mature' personality. She also tends to be a little more cocky and will even verbally abuse or bully people, too, although her form of bullying tends to be more in the line of teasing. In terms of Japanese honorifics, Rika tends to drop them altogether unless she's referring to Oyashiro-sama or kami-sama, tacking '-san' onto animals, or speaking to children even younger than she is. From the 2020 anime (spoilers): this gives a good idea of what Rika sounds like when she's speaking more maturely. Meanwhile this, from the Saikoroshi-hen anime gives a good depiction of how she sounds like normally, and what she defaults to. ♚ SCENT: Clean, generally. ♚ MENTAL INFORMATION: Given that Rika displays two different personalities, telepaths will most likely notice that Rika's thoughts don't exactly match her childish personality. ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION: It's tacked with Higurashi spoilers, so highlight to read: Rika is tacked with death due to her ability as a 'looper', which means her mental age betrays her physical one. She also has the bloodline of a demon/kami. ☄ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: I'll pretty much backtag until the thread feels finished in general if necessary, but for Ukimiya, I'll most likely be focusing on things by week. Rika's pretty much a stick compared to others who are probably more powerful than she is, but she's definitely willing to fight if her life depended on it. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: Now that she's physically sixteen, it's possible. But talk to me first lol ☄ Permissions ♚ NOTE: While the series is pretty much over ten years old, Rika herself is a bit of a spoiler for the answer arcs, several of which aren't even out on Steam yet! While I shall be doing my best to avoid any major endgame spoilers, such as the true culprit, events in a certain arc, or what is going on in Higurashi, in terms of how Rika herself acts, especially towards Hanyuu, will practically be unavoidable. I will be tagging for any spoilers, as the 2020 anime is currently airing. In terms of content warnings, I would like to give a heads up in advance that Rika canonically drinks wine, which means that whenever any sort of alcohol comes out, she will most definitely be drinking it. Other things that I should mention is that Rika's backstory has the potential of the following: family death, sororicide mentions, torture, suicide and gruesome murder.
